Overview

Introduction Session: come along to learn the basics of using The Garage recording studio.

This session is aimed at introducing the basics of studio recording, as well as the particular set up of the Garage Recording Studio. It is largely theoretical with some demonstrations and is suitable for both complete beginners and those who want a refresher. This is run by Steve Burton, the Vanbrugh Rock Tutor.

Once you have participated in this session you can move onto one of the practical sessions with an aim to getting signed off to hire the recording studio by yourself and produce your own recorded music.

What to Expect: Complimentary drinks and biscuits are available throughout the course and there are always plenty of breaks. While the room is accessible, if you have any mobility needs please do let us know in advance. The sessions are run in an informal and interactive style and questions are always welcomed. Filming or personal audio recording of the sessions is not permitted and you will usually be asked to silence any devices so as not to interupt recordings. Your are welcome to take photographs with permission of the course leader and other attendees, and you may wish to bring a notebook and pen.
