VCSE Strategy: Representation

Do we as a voluntary sector operating in Cardiff communicate how our work contributes to our priorities?

Please scroll down for Welsh translationCardiff Third Sector Council have commissioned Richard Newton Consulting to support the development of a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Strategy which is to be co-produced with involvement from the breadth of the sector operating in Cardiff. The Strategy is intended to strengthen the role of the VCSE sector in the provision of solutions to the City’s challenges and support future discussions about how and why the public sector should work with and invest in the sector. We want the strategy to be owned by Cardiff’s voluntary sector, and ensure that all voluntary sector organisations (including unregistered groups, social enterprises, CIOs, CICs, charities and other relevant groups) have full opportunity to participate.Public bodies who operate in Cardiff deliver to a number of strategies, ranging from the corporate plans of individual bodies, shared objectives through forums such as the Public Services Board and Regional Partnership Board; and wider reaching government priorites.

Do we as a voluntary sector operating in Cardiff fully understand this priorities, can we communicate how our work contributes to the priorities, do we need to be able to do this?

As these strategies develop how well represented is the voluntary sector in their development, and how do these strategies empower the voluntary sector to reach its full potential?
