Celebrate V.E. Day on Thursday 8th May at Oldham Library with storyteller Robin Simpson. Learn about the lives and adventures of ordinary people during the second world war. Both those that went away to fight and those that ‘kept the home fires burning’. Perhaps you’d like to know how difficult it was to make a birthday cake when there was a shortage of sugar and eggs? Or perhaps you’d like to know how exciting (and dangerous) it was to be a fighter pilot in a dog-fight? Learn about growing your own veg and singing Vera Lynn songs in this storytelling experience for children ages 5 and up.
