Verge management training teaches participants how to care for and enhance roadside verges for wildlife.
Verge management training provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills to manage roadside verges in ways that promote biodiversity—balancing safety and access with ecological value by supporting wildflowers, pollinators, and habitat connectivity across the landscape.
The training will consist of a presentation by Community Ecologist Susan Simmonds in the cafe extension space at Gods House Tower followed by a guided walk looking at nearby wildflower verges with volunteer James Hewins.
Accessibility
The cafe extension and courtyard are located on the ground floor and you can find step free access when entering via the courtyard. If you are entering via the main entrance, a ramp is available for the small step. Please alert a member of our crew who will assist you with this. Blue Badge Holders can park for free on Winkle Street, which is approximately 10 metres from the main entrance of God’s House Tower. There is an accessible toilet. Please note there is limited cycle parking outside God's House Tower.
The workshop is as part of our Team Wilder initiative which aims to get more people taking action for nature and making more space for nature. See link for more details:
