Following the lead of other scientific meetings we have taken the decision to postpone the VIBE meeting scheduled for 3rd April in Belfast to support efforts to delay the spread of COVID-19.We hope that doing so now will give any of you who had planned on travelling the opportunity to recuperate travel costs. We did consider a virtual meeting, but we felt that one of the strengths of the VIBE meeting was the the networking opportunities with others in the community. So for the moment we are planning on postponing until later in the year.We do not have a date in mind yet, but will be back in touch about possible dates for your calendar. Thank you all for your support for the meeting, we had over 50 registrations to date with still another week to go before the abstract deadline, so I hope you will engage with equal enthusiasm when the new date is set.Sincerely,Chris, Francesco, Karen and Stephen. (The organising committee)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------VIBE, is a one-day meeting of bioinformatics/computational biology research in Ireland, featuring a mix of PI, postdoc and PhD student talks and posters. This meeting has been running since 2002 (http://www.gen.tcd.ie/vibe/).There is no registration fee and we aim to get sponsorship to provide coffee/lunch on the day. It&#x27;s always been a nice way to get to know other researchers in Ireland and to catch up with those you haven&#x27;t seen in a while. For those wishing to stay after the meeting, we will organise to go for pints to the Jeggy Nettle.Everybody is welcome to attend but registration is required.Abstract submission will be carried out through this website.Abstract submission deadline: 16th March 2020 (23:30 hrs).
