A﻿t STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, we study the Universe from the smallest scales imaginable to the vast scales of space.  We hold a number of events, for schools and the public, throughout the year, giving you a chance to explore the lab, meet the people who work here and find out more about the incredible research taking place on site, and at our sister sites around the country.

Join us for a virtual tour of the night skies!

We will once again be running an exciting Virtual Stargazing event, which will take place on Friday 4 Feb 2022, from 17:30 - 19:30. As well as a virtual tour of the night skies in our planetarium show, we'll also be joined by our friends from Newbury Astronomical Society, who'll be able to answer your questions and share their hints and tips for observing in real life. You'll also have the chance to hear about some of our exciting projects here at RAL Space, building both Earth and Space-based telescopes to explore to the furthest reaches of our Universe, and look back deep into our past.This event will be run as a series of short sessions, with breaks in between - we'll share a full schedule in January.If you aren't going to be able to attend live, but would like to send a question in advance for us to answer during the evening, please email your query to visitral@stfc.ac.uk.We look forward to you joining us virtually at the event!
