About this event
- 7 hours
The Violence, Health and Society (VISION) consortium, funded by the UK Prevention Research Partnership, is hosting its 3rd annual conference on 11 June, 10:00 - 17:00 at Kings College London, Strand campus in the Great Hall.
Effective violence prevention requires different sectors to work together. Employers, justice, social and healthcare services, and providers of specialist services all have a role to play. While sharing many goals, there are differences in the populations they engage with, the definitions they use, and the outcomes they prioritise and measure.
Keynote speakers, Dr Claudia Garcia-Moreno (World Health Organisation) and Professor Katrin Hohl (City, University of London) consider the changes needed for effective violence prevention from the perspectives of health and justice.
Sessions on the programme include new interdisciplinary research from the VISION consortium and its partners on:
- Preventing violence against older people: Challenges in research and policy;
- Learning across statutory review practices: Origins, ambitions and future directions; and
- Responding to Experiences and Expressions of Interpersonal Violence in the workplace
Policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and those in the community and voluntary sector are welcome.
This is a free, in person event in The Great Hall at Kings College London, Strand campus.
We look forward to seeing you.
