Visual Merchandising

The Learning Shop BluewaterBluewater, England
Wednesday, Jan 21, 2026 from 10 am to 3 pm GMT
Overview

The session is fun, informative and ideal for anyone with a creative eye, previous experience or a desire to work in this field.

Visual Merchandising

Perhaps you are a creative individual with an eye for design; a beginner looking to pursue a retail career in fashion; or an experienced professional wanting to refresh your knowledge and keep up to date with technological advances in the industry.

Our course will encourage you to think creatively and commercially about retail space, provide an insight into effective in-store displays and store window design, as well as provide an insight into current fashion trends. Suitable for all abilities and levels of experience, we welcome you to come along, have a go and have some fun!

Course content:

  • History of Visual Merchandising
  • In-store layouts, sightlines and prime selling spaces
  • Using themes and heights within window displays
  • Tools and equipment
  • Colour theory
  • Effective use of graphics and signage within displays
  • Principles of design

The workshop is a great fun-packed day of learning, through a blend of theory and table activities and challenges, using fixtures and props. If you are looking to increase your knowledge of product placement and window dressing, or if you already have some experience of working in design, it serves as useful refresher workshop, enhancing your knowledge of modern-day terminology, and Bluewater styling guidance.

You could be eligible for a FREE space if you were aged over 19 on or before 31st July 2025, live in our catchment area (North and West Kent and some Greater London) and haven't received funded support from us within the last year. Contact us to find out if you are eligible for a FREE space before you book.

If you are not eligible, your ticket will cost £20. You can call us to pay over the phone, or pay on the day, after you have booked your space.
