Event description

Description

Antonio Vivaldi’s music, as popular in the baroque period as now, was unashamedly imitated, borrowed-from and re-arranged by composers across Europe. In this invigorating concert, Passacaglia explores and re-arranges Vivaldi’s music as it masquerades in various different guises, with music from The Four Seasons, French-styled sonatas imitating the Red Priest, JS Bach’s transcriptions in homage to Vivaldi, and Passacaglia’s own take on the famously wild ‘La Folia’ Variations.

Annabel Knight and Louise Bradbury - Recorders
Oliver Webber - Violin
Taro Takeuchi - Baroque Guitar
Robin Bigwood - Harpsichord
Reiko Ichise - Viola da Gamba
