    Design Thinking - A Practical Approach To Problem Solving In Veterinary Practice

    These hands-on webinars are aimed at enabling veterinary professionals to use design thinking principles for tackling challenges and problems within their everyday practice.

    Dates: three dates available please see below.

    The 75-min sessions are interactive, enabling attendees to experience some of the techniques first-hand and collaborate with others to make real-time progress!

    The benefits of attending these webinars are to:

    • Gain an introduction to what design thinking is
    • Learn about a practical problem-solving process that suits busy veterinary professionals and their teams
    • Try out some hands-on breakout tasks that bring design thinking alive (not just theory!)
    • Gain an opportunity to test design thinking against the backdrop of real-life challenges
    • Work with examples and issues that are relevant to everyday veterinary practice
    • Experience an approach that supports innovation and working collaboratively
    • Explore the innovation that was used at the RCVS Workforce Summit

    There will be three ( webinar 2 will have a lunch-time and evening session available) interactive webinars commencing from March* 2022 covering the following topics:

    • Webinar 1: Design Thinking - Manage client expectations, prototype session (*New date* 28 April) 12.30 pm
    • Webinar 2: Design Thinking -Innovating your clients veterinary experience (8 June) 12.30 pm and 7 pm
    • Webinar 3: Design Thinking -Making client interaction skills seen as a valuable investment for both employee and employer alike? (21 September) 12.30 pm

    Webinar one: 28 April, 12.30pm

    Manage client expectations, prototype session

    You will not need any preparation for this 75-minute webinar, (however we have included a short video introduction to Design Thinking that can be seen on the ViVet website and will be included in your sign up email) - simply come along and be prepared to be divided into teams and to get creative!

    Note: these webinars are designed for active participation. It will be conducted via the Zoom platform.

    Webinar two: 8 June, 12.30pm and 7pm

    Innovating your clients veterinary experience

    Practical guidance on the first ‘Empathy' design thinking step - how to capture what clients think and feel?

    A teach-in for veterinary teams, showing how to capture insight from clients, including:

    • How to create and run a client survey ‘almost for free’ !
    • How to run surveys and stay on the right side of GDPR regulations
    • Using Zoom as a client research tool
    • How to explore conversations with clients around a particular topic you want to innovate around

    You will have access to a developed a mock-up case study to work with during the teach-in, which is how to innovate and redesign the vet waiting room experience.

    This could be useful for:

    • For anyone who wants to capture direct insight from clients about any aspects of vet practice that they are planning to change.

    Webinar three: 21 September, 12.30pm

    Making client interaction skills seen as a valuable investment for both employee and employer

    An interactive webinar showcasing how Design Thinking can be used to find ways to encourage Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Surgeons to see Client Interaction skills as a valuable investment for both employee and employer alike?

    This workshop is a collaborative programme by Customer Faithful and Level7.

    Gill Stevens, Founding Director of Level7 focuses on merging coaching with design thinking methodology as a way to support innovation and team productivity.

    Rick Harris is the Founder of Customer Faithful - a research-led consultancy, specialising in customer research, proposition design and employee engagement.
