Welcome to ACTING FOR AUDIO! On 14 March at 10.30 am, join us for a day-long voice acting workshop. Whether you're a beginner or have experience with the microphone, this workshop is perfect if you want to develop confidence in working with your voice and the mic. Ideal for podcasts, voiceovers for games/animations, audio drama, live stage work with mics, immersive experiences etc.
Get ready to explore different techniques and tips to bring characters to life through your voice. Be quick, there's a maximum of 10 places available!
We'll cover many aspects of of audio performance including vocal/physical characterisation, connecting with the audience through the mic, voice-over, monologues, working with scripts and voicing dynamic scenes with fellow actors. You wil work with microphones in the workshop and you will be given some self-recording assignments to try at home so you can keep learning after the session.
Workshop leader Kate Chapman is a director and audio producer with 20 years experience of working with actors and students to make drama for a listening audience. She has made numerous productions for BBC Radio 4 and made drama for podcasts and immersive experiences. Actors she has worked with in studio include Balvinder Sopal, Siobhan Finneran, Maxine Peake, Sacha Dhawan, Phoebe Dynevor and Joanne Froggatt. Kate has taught voice acting at drama schools including RADA, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
