Wakespeare: Wakefield One Library
A theatre programme where Wakefield residents take classic Shakespeare scenes and characters and reimagine them in a Wakefield context.
As part of the Wakespeare project run by Empath Theatre we are inviting residents from the Wakefield district to join us in developing scenes for a new play.
Inspired by Shakespeare but with a definite Wakefield twist scenes could see Hamlet set in the supermarket or Romeo & Juliet meeting in secret at Haw Hill Park.
The workshops will give the opportunity for you to get involved in the project in whatever role you would like from acting to directing, from writing to lighting there are many choices.
Come along to this session and find out more and then join other sessions across the district to develop your ideas and work if you would like to. There will be the chance to perform your final pieces (live or recorded) but you can decide at what level you would like to be involved.
