Explore the landscape of Ashdown Forest through tracking and sketching the Forest's very own herd of Exmoor Ponies.

Professional artist Catherine Greenwood will demonstrate some experimental ways of using inks and watercolour en plein air- encouraging you to bring your drawings alive with colour.

All art equipment will be provided. At the end of the workshop you will have created unique artworks to take home with you.

Catherine Greenwood is a local contemporary artist specialising in Printmaking inspired by walking & drawing. She is a member of @wildernessartcollective whose mission is to connect people to nature through art. 10.30am-4pm May 12th on The Ashdown Forest.

The exact location of the workshop depends upon the location of the ponies and will be emailed to attendees no later than two days before the workshop.

Tea and Coffee and snacks will be provided on arrival, please bring a packed lunch and wear suitable footwear and outdoor clothing for all weathers.

Please note this workshop will take place outdoors on Ashdown Forest, where there are no toilet facilites. There will be a break at lunch time, when you can visit the nearest facilites which are a short drive away.

We reccommend that attendees bring along a camping chair or pad/blanket to sit on.

Catherine is an experienced art workshop leader and is happy to give any tuition that is needed, she has many years’ experience as an art walk leader on the South Downs and regularly teaches Printmaking in London, Brighton and from her own studio in West Hoathly, Sussex.

The workshop will involve some walking along the trails of Ashdown Forest which are uneven, and steep in places so a good level of fitness is required.

Unfortunately this workshop is unsuitable for most wheelchairs due to the terrain. Please get in touch if you would like more information.

All tools and materials will be provided.

Your Car parking fee is covered in your booking. Please let us know your car registration when you arrive.

The workshop is aimed at adults or children over 12 years of age. Any child attendee must be accompanied by an adult. Please contact us if you would like more details.

No dogs – this workshop is not suitable for our canine friends.
