Do you like walking and talking with frequent stops? Would you like to explore the Park Royal-district of London Craft Week 2025? If so, join a Talking and Exploring adventure!
Each of our walks is a unique experience carefully curated by Joanna and shaped on the day by those who come and those we meet, as well as by the weather and… the unexpected!
On this walk you will be introduced to the vibrant colony of artists, designers and craftspeople operating in the fast changing environment of the Park Royal Design District, in the heart of the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Area.
See the area which only became populated in the previous two centuries owing to the arrival of the canal, the network of railways and the roads. Find out about its rich industrial past and the time when the industrial players moved outside London often leaving behind empty premises.
Find out who replaced the big industry, how the world events have been shaping the human tapestry of Park Royal, and how the Greater London Authority has been working on the best possible redevelopment of the area.
Learn about some of the diverse artisans and craftspeople and what they offer, see the different studios, learn about the various opportunities that you may not even know exist in this part of West London, be it for you as a customer, collaborator, service user or a studio member. Learn why Park Royal is referred to as The Kitchen of London. You may even taste some of the locally made foods...!
Everyone is welcome as long as they can take part in a walk with numerous stops on the way. Make sure you wear suitable footwear as the pavements can be uneven.
Joanna Dudzinska has been offering tours of different parts of the OPDC area for a number of years bringing people together to learn about its past, present and future potential.
Each of her walks is a unique experience as different businesses, organizations, artisans and creatives may be visited each time, different routes can be taken, and changes commented on. She shares the results of her research and findings but likes to enable participants to give their thoughts and insights or share what they know and notice.
She is an enthusiast and endlessly curious.
