About this event

The end of our BLESS Nottingham event on Thursday 1st May, will signify the beginning of our Walk Notts with TNT fundraiser. Our #WalkWithTNT series has highlighted just some of the breadth and scope of our work that we do here at Transforming Notts Together to overcome poverty and injustice across our City and County.

Transforming Notts Together works across the City and County to inspire, equip and connect churches, organisations and projects as they seek to help people break free from poverty. We support:

* the 86 Places of Welcome across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

* 22 statutory organisations

* 61 voluntary community projects

* 249 churches

and groups/charities belonging to other, or no, faith.

So what is Walk Notts with TNT?

Over the course of two weeks, beginning on Thursday 1st May and finishing on Thursday 15th May, we will be visiting as many of the churches, organisations and charities we support as possible. Walking 85 miles across the two week span, we aim to: (a) highlight just some of the amazing work that is happening across our City and County, (b) raise money to overcome poverty and injustice in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, (c) connect churches and projects with each other, and (d) inspire others to get involved in supporting their local church/project.

So how can I get involved?

Firstly, we would love to invite you to walk with us. To see the amazing beauty in our City and County, and to connect with and be inspired by the work that is already happening. If you would like to get involved, you can find details of our walk in the agenda section. You would be more than welcome to join us!

Secondly, you can sponsor our efforts and make a stand against poverty and inequality in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We know that the rates of poverty are increasing in a City who already ranks as the 11th (out of 317) most deprived district in England using the Indices of Multiple Deprivation.

Thirdly, we would love to you pray for us, and for our City and County. We will be praying as we walk (along with chatting) over the churches, projects and general areas that we walk through.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a keen walker/hiker to attend?

None of the staff team would describe themselves as hikers, but we would suggest a reasonably good level of fitness for the longer walks in particular. Some of the days have a shorter more manageable length (under 5 miles). The event is open to all, all days.
