Walk With Us - Crystal Palace

We are walking in solidarity with those held in immigration detention and to raise awareness of indefinite detention in the UK.

The next Refugee Tales walk will be held in Crystal Palace!

Meeting point

We will meet at Peckham Rye Railway Station at 10:30 am to leave at 11am.

For those who have signed up to be Friends of GDWG, please email Lara (lara@gdwg.org.uk) and she will give you a code and release your ticket for you.

Our Route: 7 miles total

Start – Peckham Rye station. This station is in Zone 2, and is served by Southern, Southeastern and Thameslink trains. It is also on the Windrush Line (London Overground) and a number of bus routes.

The walk is about 7 miles long and will take us through woods, parks and a cemetery. We will see some lovely scenery and interesting buildings and may spot some animals along the way. The route is initially mainly level but there are steps later on. If you’d like more information about accessibility please get in touch.

There are toilets at the lunch stop and near the end of the walk. There is a cafe at the lunch stop but it may be busy so please bring a packed lunch with you.

There are multiple drop out points along the route.

We will finish at Crystal Palace station which has overground and mainline trains as well as bus stops. We should arrive there by 4pm at the latest.

No dogs

We ask that you do not bring dogs (other than guide dogs), as we wish to make the walk accessible for all.
