Walkabout Around Kuala Lumpur Independence Square.
About this event
Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia - Independence Square is a historic site that has a special place in the heart of every citizen of Malaysia. It was here on the midnight of 31 August 1957, the British Union Jack went down and the Malayan Flag was raised here for the first time. This is also why the square is called Independence Square.
During the British period, the square was used as the ground to play one of England's most beloved games - cricket.
Join me for the live virtual tour starting from Sultan Abdul Samad Building and I will show you some of the heritage buildings around the square, describing the history and architecture of the buildings. The buildings are of European style and most of them are more than 100 years old.
