M﻿aggie's pioneering workshops aim to raise confidence levels, generate humour; improve performance skills and become better improvisers.Maggie’s classes teach people to take risks and connect with others through playful activities. She asks that you remain open to experience the absurd and the ridiculous, embrace chaos and silence – and engage with your own physicality and self-awareness.This is a brilliant opportunity for people to up-skill and engage positively with self-awareness, their own physicality and lived experiences. The best thing about the workshops is that they are suitable for anybody: Actors, teachers, bankers, the butcher the baker, the candlestick maker - and it's a lot of fun.Who are they for?Absolutely anyone who would like to give stand up comedy a go, or for those wanting to write/update material and improve their set; anyone who wants to bring more humour into their lives - professionally or personally or both!What can you expect?Group and individual activities that encourage openness and playfulness.Learning how comedians create comedy.Discovering your personal and preferred style of comedy.A build in professional humour-making skills.I love these classes!! Bumble and Bee

<p>This 90 minute ambulatory site specific improv class is a quest - a chance to meet up  and get creative with the environment, the elements, the landscape and you .</p><p>We will gather outside at the rear of The Bumble and Bee Cafe in Exmouth&#x27;s <strong>Manor Gardens</strong> where we will begin our first improvisatory piece, prior to moving on towards the plantation walk. </p><p>It is experimental and the aim is  to  have fun creating stories, and subtle interactions using a variety of  stimuli, including yourself, ,myths, memories and the setting in which we are situated.  No character acting - just be yourself.</p><ul><li>Dress for the weather.</li><li>Be willing to be playful yet mindful  and aware of both social distancing and people not involved in the group.</li><li>Be open to try a brand new exciting initiative in the town of Exmouth - one that builds creativity, curiosity and self-expression.</li><li>Be happy to stroll from Manor Gardens along  plantation walk, to The Beacon, through Gunfield Gardens, onto the seafront and back to Manor Gardens.</li></ul><p> It is a small class that  will operate in dialogue with government guidelines. </p><p>*Classes will only run subject to numbers booked</p><p>Dr Maggie Irving is a performer, researcher and teacher who is experienced in ambulatory-style solo and group performances. Guidance will be given on this style of alfresco walking and responding to the architectural landscape  throughout the session.  </p><p>This is the pilot of a regular  summer programme for 2021. We look forward to creating a strong presence within the Exmouth community - for the community.</p><p>Maggie is immensely excited about this new way of meeting and hopes you will join her on this inaugural event.
