About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Old Kent Road might be the cheapest property on the board, but there is a lot of interesting things in the area. In this walk from Queens Road Peckham to Elephant and Castle, you'll see London's largest alms-houses, a former pub famous for the boxer Henry Cooper and also the Canterbury Tales, and stories of philanthropy from the areas working class past.

After the Old Kent road the walk takes in Burgess park, a green space made from World War Two bomb sites, and following the route of the former Surrey Canal. After that the walk weaves through the back streets of Walworth and finishes at the rapidly changing Elephant and Castle

The walk is about 3 miles
