Free Creative Workshops for 8-15s! Join York Creatives this August for two fun, hands-on art sessions as part of the Walmgate Reframed project. Design digital posters (27–28 Aug) or try printmaking at Thin Ice Press (20–21 Aug) — or do both! Lunch is included, it’s totally free, and your work will be featured in a public exhibition. Plus, you’ll help choose the artist creating a major installation in November!
You can book onto all four sessions or individual session - although we recommend you come to as many as you can to make the most out of them and create some really awesome artworks.
Printmaking with Thin Ice Press:
Get hands on learning traditional printing techniques and create your own, one-of-a-kind poster. Thin Ice Press: the York Centre for Print is a unique centre which aims to preserve historical printing and printmaking techniques, and to welcome new audiences. In the workshop, you will have fun experimenting with traditional printing techniques and work with an expert team to test out your design ideas and create your own A3 poster to take away, inspired by Walmgate and its communities.
