Wassail With Us

Rosamund Community GardenGuildford, England
Saturday, Feb 7 from 2 pm to 4 pm GMT
Overview

So exciting – it’s Wassail time at Rosamund Community Garden. Come along and share in the fun on Saturday 7 Feb, 2pm to 4pm, GU4 8PP

A Wassail is an Anglo-Saxon tradition of blessing an orchard to ensure a good harvest. The celebration involves decorating a tree, singing, poetry and cider.

Bring a spoon and a pot to help chase away the ‘evil spirits’ and take part in blessing our orchard. Maybe you will be crowned our Wassail King and Queen.

There will be apple juice, poetry and plenty of singing.

Please wear warm clothes and suitable footwear, as the ground is uneven.
Parking is limited, so please try to car share, walk or cycle where possible.
Tickets are currently capped at 50 people, please book a ticket (no need to print off though).

Free entry. Donations for snacks and drinks are welcome. Please bring cash.

Accessibility note: Apologies, the ground is currently unsuitable for wheelchairs. There is a tree bog on site which is accessed via steps.

We look forward to celebrating with you.

How to find us

We are located near Pewley Down, off Longdown Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 8PP. You can park in Longdown Road and then walk along the footpath at the first left-hand bend keep to the right and the garden is set back on the right - about 100m along. Or a pleasant way to reach the site is to walk across the top of Pewley Down, then along the ridge through the shaded tunnel of Burgess Way, which brings you to the houses on your right and our entrance is the last farm gate on your left before emerging onto Longdown Road.
