Waterless Hills fuse elements of Eastern European and Middle Eastern-folk music melted into the coldly stark foundations of droning post-rock.The group consists of Andrew Cheetham (drums/percussion), Gavin Clarke (bass), C Joynes (guitar) and DBH on violin.'Their album 'The Great Mountain' was recorded in one day direct to 1/4” tape at Hallé St Michaels, Manchester. All tracks were wholly improvised, and the tapes document a slowly-evolving interplay and, at times, ‘on-the-edge’ exchange between the players.'
