Event description
Join us and other members of the WBG Early-Career Network to discuss the role of trade unions in the fight for women's rights.

About this Event

Come join us for a discussion on the book 'Collective Bargaining and Gender Equality' on the role that trade unions play in securing women's rights in the workplace and in the recognition of the unpaid care work overwhelmingly performed by women. Jane Pillinger and Nora Wintour explore how the feminization of unions in both developing and developed countries is changing bargaining agendas to address such issues as equal pay for work of equal value, work-life balance, maternity and parental leave rights, non-discrimination in access to employment, and the spill-over of domestic violence into the workplace.

We're meeting at WBG 's office at Tripod Co-working space in Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton. There will be some nibbles and hot drinks!

This is a Women's Budget Group Early-Career Network initiative so we encourage our ECN members to attend. If you'd like to become a member you can register here.

Places are free & everyone welcome but registration is mandatory so you can access the meeting place.
