We invite you to join Jeanette (Dermatology) and Tony (Soft Tissue Surgery) for an interactive session focusing on the diagnosis and management of ear conditions.
Together, they will:
• Share practical tips for treating common and complex ear diseases
• Discuss when to refer and how best to support patients
• Guide you through advanced options, including Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA)
This session is designed to give you confidence in managing ear cases from start to finish, with expert advice every step of the way.
About the Speakers:
Jeanette Bannoehr Dipl. ECVD, PhD, Dr. med. vet., DVM, MRCVS. RCVS & EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology, SCVS Head of Dermatology
Jeanette graduated from vet school, at the Free University of Berlin, Germany, in 2005. She moved to Scotland after to study bacterial skin diseases in dogs, at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, part of the University of Edinburgh. She was awarded her PhD in bacterial skin disease in 2009. Jeanette completed a rotating clinical internship at the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket in 2009-2010. She then moved to Switzerland for a three-year dermatology residency program at the University of Bern, where she also worked as a clinician in her specialist discipline. Jeanette returned to the Animal Health Trust after as a Clinician in Dermatology and progressed to Head of Dermatology. Jeanette joined Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists as Dermatology Specialist Clinician in July 2020. She holds the European Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology and has European and RCVS Recognised Specialist status. Her interests are “all things related to skin” but in particular staphylococcal skin infections.
Tony Ryan MVB CertSAS DipECVS MRCVS EBVS® and RCVS-Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, SCVS Head of Surgery
Tony graduated from University College Dublin in 1996 and worked in general practice at home in Ireland before moving to a small animal practice in the New Forest in 2001.
Following an internship at the Animal Health Trust, he completed a three-year surgical residency at the Royal (Dick) School for Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, where he obtained the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2005.
He then worked as a Clinician in Soft Tissue Surgery at Liverpool University Veterinary School and joined our team in 2009. In 2010, Tony became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgery and has since headed up our surgery team.
