Weave Together - Half Term Workshop

Join our resident weaving teach Agnis during Half Term and weave together with your young person!

Ever wondered what it would be like to weave on a loom? Join Agnis in the Weaving Shed during the Half Term and have a go at weaving on the gorgeous dobby looms at Sunny Bank Mills.

You will be in a small group, working in pairs, giving plenty of opportunity to ask questions and receive 1 to 1 support throughout the workshop. You will be using stick shuttles during this workshop and will be able to take your own small piece of woven material away with you at the end of the session.

One ticket allows two participants that will weave together on one loom. Ideal for teenagers studying art and textiles, woven samples can be included in portflios and develipment.

All materials and equipment will be provided. Spaces are very limited, so booking is essential.

Suitable for ages 14+. Under 18 must be acompamied by an adult.

About Agnis

Agnis Smallwood has been working with us at Sunny Bank Mills for over 4 years. She is a designer, maker, researcher and educator who loves to make, create and teach. Agnis has a passion for textiles and specialises in weave. She is based in Leeds, and can always be found making, both independently and often collaboratively.

Course terms and booking conditions

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. As materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.

If we need to cancel the course for any reason your ticket will be fully refunded.

Accessibility

This workshop will be held in the Weaving Shed, which is accessible by a flight of wooden stairs or a wheelchair accessible lift inside our Twisting Studios. If you are likely to need lift access, please let us know on your booking form so that we can offer assistance on the day.
