Whether you’ve been campaigning for social justice locally and internationally for years, or you're new to campaigning in Scotland, join activists from across the country at the Glasgow Autonomous Space for a full day of workshops, discussion and network building. Whether you want to discuss movement-building and creating effective collaborations, learn more about what Global Justice Now and other organisations across Scotland are doing, or understand what connects issues as wide-ranging as post Brexit trade deals, climate chaos, the Hostile Environment and the exploitation of Africa, we’re here to help you connect the dots.

Lunch will be provided for a small donation on the day. If you have a reusable cup, please bring it for teas and coffees.

ABOUT THE VENUE

The Glasgow Autonomous Space (GAS) is a community-owned social centre in a converted warehouse space in Tradeston, Glasgow. It was founded in 2016 to provide space for community activist groups working against inequality and oppression. For more information about GAS, visit their website at glasgowautonomous.weebly.com

GETTING THERE BY SUBWAY: The nearest subway station is West Street. Turn left out of the station, then follow Kilbirnie Street to the left for around 5 minutes. The main entrance is on Kilbirnie St, opposite the Velvet Lounge. The main entrance is through the gate to the left of the entrance to the Calor Gas warehouse – go into the garden and up the stairs.

GETTING THERE BY BUS: The 3, 4, 38 and 57 will all take you from St Vincent St in the city centre to Wellcroft Place. Carry on down the road and take the first right onto Kilbirnie St (the junction is directly under the overpass). GAS will be the second building to the left.

STEP FREE ACCESS: Step free access to the building is available. Turn down the side road to the left of the building, opposite Efes/Sher Bros, and when you reach the back of the building there will be a wheelchair ramp to your right. The entrance will be signposted. All but one of the rooms we are using are at ground level. Unfortunately, one room we’re using is only accessible by using stairs (there is a handrail but no lift) – if that will present a barrier for you, please let us know and we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on any sessions you want to attend. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
