Public squares, coffee tables and meeting rooms have moved online, and so have problems related to freedom of speech and protection from harms. However, regulation is still lagging behind. The new Digital Services Act will tackle some of these problems, namely the question of intermediary liability: is Twitter liable for what is tweeted? Is Facebook liable for what is posted? How proactive must they be in taking down content that violates the rules? Should that include only illegal content, or should it be extended to harmful content?This Wednesday, Maria Manuel Leitão Marques is hosting a webinar where answers to these questions will be discussed by academics, politicians and representatives from the industry and organizations.
