Audacious Women Festival provides a chance for women to break down personal, political or institutional barriers, and to celebrate audacious women everywhere.DO WHAT YOU ALWAYS WISH YOU DARED!Take your own audacious action, on your own, with friends, or through your organisations. Break convention. Get outside your comfort zone. Be adventurous. Do a charity parachute jump, throw some bricks through the glass ceiling, or organise a protest march. Anything that will make a positive difference to you or to the world.

Audacious Women Festival

<P>WOMEN ONLY EVENT</P>
<P>Please pay what you can afford. The average cost to the Festival of providing a workshop place is £15. We want the Festival to be accessible to as many women as possible, so offer a range of ticket prices. Very many thanks to those who are able to contribute a little more.<BR></P>
<P>Are you fed up with the limitations of your current website? Do you want to develop a project online, but can’t find the functionality you need?</P>
<P>Most of the well-publicised website building solutions are hosted – the online equivalent of fast food – but how realistic is it to take control and go beyond the limits of hosted solutions, particularly if you’re not a coder?</P>
<P>This workshop will provide a beginner’s guide to managing your own hosting, including ways of installing free, open source, software (such as the self-hosted version of WordPress and Drupal), and a foundation for continuing to experiment with confidence.</P>
<P>It will help if you have an existing project in mind, and an idea of what you want to achieve. No coding knowledge is required, but some experience of website building will be useful. Bring your own laptop (essential) and find out just how far it’s possible to go.</P>

<P>Alison is a project consultant. Her experience includes designing online information and project management systems, and building and managing multi-user websites. However, her background is not in tech. She was driven to learn by her fascination with online technologies and the ways in which they can open new possibilities for collaboration, innovation and action. She is a strong believer in the power of the open-source community and what can be achieved through knowledge sharing.</P>
