Set on Guildhall Street, just a three-minute walk from the Buttermarket, this remarkable building dates back to the mid-1100s and is the oldest continuously used civic building in Britain. It offers a range of unique, characterful spaces for weddings, private celebrations, corporate functions and community events of all sizes.Enjoy the beautiful walled and sensory gardens—ideal for garden parties, post-ceremony drinks and unforgettable photographs. The octagonal gazebo provides welcome shelter in any weather, while the colourful planting creates a stunning backdrop all year round.The Guildhall is also home to Britain’s only surviving WWII Royal Observer Corps Operations Room. Once shrouded in secrecy, this hidden wartime story is now open to explore through open days or private tours.Alongside venue hire, we host a year-round programme of exhibitions, talks, concerts and workshops.Office hours: Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm. The venue is open to the public during scheduled events only.
