The CIPD Branch in Shropshire

The Event begins with the CIPD’s Senior Policy Adviser, Rachel Suff, who will share findings from the CIPD’s recent Health and Well-being Survey and illustrate how the Well-being model can work in practice based on effective leadershp, culture and people management.
Our keynote speaker is Dr Sheena Johnson, Occupational Psychologist and Senior Lecturer in Organisational Psychology at Alliance Manchester Business School. Sheena will be sharing the findings of her research on well-being at work along with a selection of case studies from her latest book, Well-being, Productivity and Happiness at Work, co-authored by Sir Cary Cooper and Ivan Robertson.
We will also be joined by Duncan Spencer, Head of Information and Intelligence at the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), who will discuss the importance of well-being to workplace health and safety.
After a short break, we will host a series of 20-30 minute mini-workshops. At registration, delegates will be asked to put their name down to attend up to 3 of the 9 sessions on offer. Each of the sessions have been linked to different aspects of the CIPD’s Well-being Model.  The CIPD well-being model identifies five inter-related domains of employee well-being (health, work, values and principles, collective and social, and personal growth), guided by the principle that an effective employee wellbeing strategy needs to go far beyond a series of standalone initiatives. 
The event will commence at 8.45am with coffee, networking and a visit to the exhibition stands; three keynote speakers will commence from 9.15am; followed by coffee, networking and further time to visit the exhibition.  Break out seminars commence from 11am.  The event will finish at approximately 1pm with a networking buffet, event closing at 2pm.
