Join us for our weekly community restorative justice circle, exploring different topics, such as happiness, anger, spring and more
Join us for our community restorative justice circle, exploring different topics each week, such as happiness, anger, stress, spring, vulnerability, and more. This will be a safe space for you to discuss what you care about most, what you love, and what concerns you deeply.
Our centre provides a restorative space to connect with others, featuring different talking themes. These circles were set based on a community need to provide a space for our local residents and families to connect and support each other - everyone is welcome to join for a circle and no previous experience is expected. Our circles are underpinned by RJ practices and moderated by our RJ practitioners, trainees, and volunteers.
Each week, we come together to explore and discuss a set theme. The themes are diverse and change every week. Some of the past circles discussed play, expectations, vulnerability, environment, love, newness, youth to adulthood, adversity, humor, grit, nurturing, gratitude, agency, accountabilty, joy, empathy, autumn/transition, open-heartedness, anger, dissapointment, awe, resilience, safety, democracy, wonder or guilt --- among others.
Our Restorative Justice Circles are guided by the following principles, which we state at the start of every circle:
1 Circle flow. Everyone is equal here; the keeper facilitates the theme, and a talking piece is used when it's your turn to share. Your responses are informed by the contributions of others
2 Open and respectful dialogue. There are no right and wrong answers, and we all learn from each other .
3 Curiosity is the key. All viewpoints are welcomed and expected to be shared and heard respectfully
4 No tension at all. If you're feeling overwhelmed or need a moment, you can 'come up for air' at any time, whether individually or as a group
RJ4ALL circles are a confidential space to meet others, to share stories and to explore thoughts and feelings around the weekly theme. It's a supportive structured environment for reflection and conversation. These sessions are FREE to all.
