Workshop run by Community Living Well on Goal Setting & Problem Solving

Overview

Join us this January for a New Year Goal Setting & Problem Solving Workshop, run by Community Living Well, designed to help you reflect, reset, and move forward with confidence as the year begins.

Community Corner is a service run by the NHS, aiming to reduce social isolation and support people to live well within their communities. Every Thursday at Violet Melchett, we host activities that promote mental health, wellbeing, and connection.

As we enter a new year, many people find it helpful to pause, take stock, and think about what they would like to change or work towards. Setting clear, realistic goals can provide structure, motivation, and a sense of purpose, while problem-solving skills can help break down challenges into manageable steps and reduce feelings of overwhelm.

This interactive workshop will explore:

  • Why goal setting is helpful for wellbeing and mental health
  • How to set achievable, meaningful goals that work for you
  • Practical problem-solving tools to help overcome barriers
  • Ways to stay motivated and flexible when plans don’t go as expected

The session will include guided discussion, practical exercises, and time for reflection in a supportive, non-judgemental environment. No prior experience is needed—this workshop is suitable for anyone looking to start the year with greater clarity, confidence, and direction.

Date: 29th January

Time: 14:00 –16:00pm

Location: Violet Melchett Health and Wellbeing hub

Please note: attendees are required to complete a short form before the workshop, which includes basic personal information and a brief mood assessment. This information is confidential and not shared with any external parties. The form can also be provided in other languages if requested in advance.
