Wellness Drumming
Why is "Wellness" added to drumming?
How are these concepts connected, does it work, and what is the purpose of attending this session?
What benefits will I gain from participating?
Why is the drum the chosen instrument for every session?

The goal of each session is to practise focus and concentration. Here, one of the most relevant aspects is rhythm. The term rhythm derives from the Greek word rhythmos, simple meaning organisation or relationship within time.Rhythmic play requires total concentration — a state of presence in the here and now. There is no other way; you are either in the rhythm/flow or lost in your thoughts, which means you're outside the rhythm.
The Body.
We start with the position — how you play and your breathing. This forms the basis for tuning bodily awareness. From the very first minutes of the session, we tune into this, paying attention throughout the entire practice.
Movements.
It doesn’t matter how complicated or intricate the patterns you can play are. On the contrary, like in dancing, yoga, or any unfamiliar movement, it’s important to perform attentively, carefully, and with full presence. That’s how we align our body with the rhythm of the play.
The Magic of the Group.
It’s the interest and engagement of each participant that fills the space with creative energy. Where several people are united in a shared activity — creating together — there is always synergy. This is something we can only achieve together, and it’s what everyone has experienced and admired, both consciously and subconsciously.

If you ask whether all this pertains to Wellness Drumming, my answer is — Not quite . It’s just a small part of my personal experience, reflections, and thoughts about group drumming. And yet, every participant brings their own experience and emotions. Only your participation and contribution will give you a unique opportunity to draw your own conclusions — how and why it works.
That’s why I’ve dedicated my life to facilitating group drumming, and I am happy to share it with you. So, in 2026, on the second Thursday of every month (February 12th, March 12th, April 9th, etc.), at the Sussex Support Centre, Victoria Pavilion, Uckfield TN22 5DJ, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, a small group of 12–14 participants is waiting for you. Booking is mandatory. All necessary instruments will be provided.I look forward to the next session on Thursday, February 12th, and I can’t wait to see and hear you in the circle of like-minded people.
Be aware, Google Navigator show incorrect directions. Follow the signs to Victoria Leisure Ground Following to Uckfield Anderida Cricket Club first may help you to solve this issue.
