Walthamstow Wetlands is Europe's largest urban wetland nature reserve. The 211 hectare space has now been regenerated and opened to the wider public for the very first time in 150 years. Home to an abundance of wildlife and rich industrial heritage, the area is nationally and internationally recognised and is becoming an increasing focal point for wildlife enthusiasts and visitors who wish to connect with nature within the city.Just 15 minutes from central London, Walthamstow Wetlands offers space to explore and relax. So whether you wish to enjoy some peace and calm, observe wildlife, learn how London’s water is delivered, fish, run, cycle or enjoy the hospitality of our Visitor Centre and Cafe situated in the Engine House, there will most certainly be something for everyone.

Walthamstow Wetlands

Explore the Wetlands and learn how to identify trees in winter and their importance in the ecosystem. Come and discover about the body language of trees and help us plant young trees across the reserve.
This event is for adults and is based outside - please dress for the weather.
