Birmingham Heritage Week in Sutton Coldfield 2023

Sutton Coldfield Heritage Network is delighted to promote events taking place Sept 8-17, presented by  groups and individuals across Sutton who are interested in local history & heritage. We all look forward to seeing you at one or more of these events.

*Please note: this event does NOT require booking or registration. You can simply turn up on the day*In addition to the well-preserved Roman road in Sutton Park, many more remains of Roman and even older times have been found around Sutton Coldfield. This illustrated talk by local archaeologist Dr Mike Hodder will describe the objects, structures and landscape of prehistoric hunters and farmers, and Roman soldiers, farmers and potters. How did people in the distant past influence the area’s subsequent history, and what can you still see today? The event is free, but donations to Holy Trinity church (cash or card) on the day would be appreciated.........................This is event is being promoted by Sutton Coldfield Heritage Network (SCHN), a volunteer run community group which runs, supports and promotes history and heritage activities in Sutton Coldfield.
