About this event

New analysis by the Boston Consulting Group shows that if the gender gap in entrepreneurship were closed, global GDP could rise by 3% to 6% - boosting the global economy by $2.5 to $5 trillion. But the ripple effect could go far beyond any financial projection: the innovations, services and products that would be unleashed into our markets if half the population were able to operate to their full entrepreneurial potential could be on a scale beyond our imagination. These new ideas could drive scientific breakthroughs, fuel solutions to the world’s most pressing problems and, ultimately, transform the way we live our lives.

In this lively session on Women Deliver's last day, we'll consider: Can women’s entrepreneurship create a social revolution? Could a global movement remove the barriers women entrepreneurs face? Are networks the key to unlocking the transformative potential of entrepreneurship? And what role could technology play?

Experts will go head-to-head, each with a three minute pitch, to debate these questions, generate new ideas and challenge our existing thinking.

Together with the audience, we will all explore how the power of entrepreneurship and collective action can be harnessed to achieve women’s economic equality faster.

The incredible speaker line up includes:

  • The Hon Julia Gillard AC, 27th Prime Minister of Australia and Chair of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership
  • Sarah Hendriks, Director Gender Equality, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
  • Tanzila Khan, Founder of Girlythings
  • Amy Greene, Chair of the Avon Foundation for Women
  • Cherie Blair QC CBE, Founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women

Register now to join us at Women Deliver 2019: Thurs 6th June 6:15-8am PDT.

The event will be held in Room 214, Level 2 where breakfast will be served.

This is a free event, which means we overbook to allow for no-shows and to avoid having empty seats during the session. While we generally do not have to turn people away, this does mean we cannot guarantee everyone a seat or place. Admission is on a first come, first serve basis.

Please note we may video and take photos at the event for our own internal and external marketing purposes – if you would prefer not to be featured, please let us know in advance or make yourself known to a member of the events team on the day.
