Online Storytelling Walk  around Sunnybank Park

Activities will take place both in-person (socially distanced, at a time of your choosing) and online.
Do you know your animal neighbours? Whether you are a country bumpkin or live in town, wildlife is all around us and its stories are just waiting to be heard! Watch a short film of a storytelling walk, where you will get to know the Sunnybank Park fox and some of its friends. You can then follow in the walk’s footsteps to see the animals that call the park their home with your own eyes. When you head to Sunnybank Park, why don’t you bring along your camera and take part in our wildlife photo and caption competition? Send us your best animal photo taken in the park, along with a short caption, to win a great prize. Can you take the best photo, write the funniest caption, and outfox your competitors? Let your imagination run wild! This event is suitable for families and children aged 8+. Competition T&amp;Cs apply. This event is part of the series ‘Alternative Aberdeens: Past, Present and Future’ organised by the University of Aberdeen.

Being Human 2020 - What does the fox say?Wildlife photo and caption competitionTerms and ConditionsTo enterPlease email your photo and a short caption (max. 3 sentences) to Helena.Ifill@abdn.ac.uk, and don’t forget to tell us your name and age!The prizesThe winner and runner-up will receive book vouchers worth £20 and £10 .The rulesWe must receive entries for the competition by Monday 30 November 2020.We aim to inform the winners within 21 days of the closing date.All entrants must be under 15 and should ask permission from a parent or guardian before entering.The photo must be an original photo (taken by you) of wildlife in Sunnybank Park.You should not do anything to stress or upset the animals when you try to photograph them.Please do not enter photos of any animal that is suffering, disfigured or wounded as they will be disqualified.Please do not submit any selfies.Wildlife photography best practice-	Don’t get too closeAnimals may get stressed if you come too close to their home. They may even feel forced to leave their location. This can harm them, particularly if there are young animals or babies.-	Be careful with flashAnimals are very sensitive to light and can be scared by a strong flash.-	Always put the welfare of the animal first.Personal informationEach entrant's parent or legal guardian agrees that, only for the purposes of promoting the Competition, the University of Aberdeen may use the entrant’s first name, surname, and age. The University of Aberdeen will not post the names and details of entrants online without the entrant’s parental or guardian’s consent. Personal information provided by finalists will be used for the purposes of administering the Competition where necessary (for example the provision of prizes). The personal data of winners will be kept to enable the uses of their photos as described below.CopyrightAll photos submitted must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other person. The University of Aberdeen cannot be liable if another person’s rights are breached, and the parent or guardian of the entrant agrees to indemnify the University of Aberdeen in respect of any claim from a third party that the entrant’s work infringes their rights. Entrants retain the copyright in their submitted photos. However, by entering the Competition under these terms, the entrant gives the University of Aberdeen a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to exhibit and post the submitted photos in any and all media.
