Pastoral visiting is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways we can care for one another—but it also comes with real questions. How do I know when it’s appropriate to visit? Should I go alone? What if meeting at home isn’t possible? And what happens when a conversation goes beyond what I feel equipped to handle?

This session is designed to support anyone with pastoral responsibilities—new or experienced—in making confident, compassionate decisions in their role. Together, we’ll explore practical ways of meeting people where they are, staying safe, recognising our limits, and knowing when and how to seek help. We’ll also look at how churches can ensure no one is overlooked through clear pathways, good signposting, and shared responsibility.
