Our first place-based  integrated Schwartz Round – free to everyone working or volunteering in health and care in Kirklees and Calderdale.

This first local event is an open opportunity for colleagues working in Kirklees and Calderdale to take time out to reflect on their experiences of When there isn’t enough time- How do we care within Limits?Schwartz Rounds provide a structured forum where staff and volunteers, clinical and non-clinical, can come together regularly to discuss the emotional and social aspects of working in healthcare. In this Round, you will hear from locally-based Story Tellers whose experiences should resonate with you and help you to work through your own. The purpose of Rounds is to understand the challenges and rewards that come with providing all types of care, it is not to solve problems or to focus on the clinical aspects of patient care.Schwartz Rounds can help you feel more supported in your job, allowing you the time and space to reflect on your experiences. Evidence shows that people who attend Rounds feel less stressed and isolated, with increased insight and appreciation for each other’s roles. They also help to reduce hierarchies between staff and to focus attention on relational aspects of care.The idea behind Schwartz Rounds is that the compassion shown by staff can make all the difference to a patient’s experience of care, but that in order to provide compassionate care people must, in turn, feel supported in their work.<a href="https://workforce.wypartnership.co.uk/help-where-you-are" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">You can find out more about Schwartz Rounds on our website. </a>
