Hosted by The British Council in partnership with Liverpool Biennial and FACT
Join us to consider the recent shifts and changes to the ways in which arts and culture are encountered in the public and private spaces by day and by night, and in turn, how arts and culture are shaping and producing the public realm and the identities of cities.

12.45 Welcome by Professor Jo Beall, Director Education and Society, The British Council 
12.55 Liverpool Biennial: 20 years of impact on the city of Liverpool – an overview by Sally Tallant, Director, Liverpool Biennial 
13.15 ‘The Resilience Garden’ – a story from Liverpool Biennial 2018 Chaired by Sally Tallant with input from Mohamed Bourouissa and representatives from Kingsley Community School and Granby Four Streets Community Land Trust.
13.35 Jo Beall introduces the British Council-commissioned publication ‘Where Strangers Meet’ edited by Claire Doherty.

13.45 Panel discussion on ‘Art, Cities and Encounters in public and private space’ Panellists: Dave Haslam, Lynn Froggett, Paul Heritage and Nina Edge. Chaired by Claire Doherty, Editor. Panellists each offer a view, followed by questions.
14.45 ‘The Meaning of Water’, reflections on the publication and on why water is the theme of the immersive installation ‘Aurora’ at the Dingle reservoir, created by FACT with Invisible Flock and artists from Indonesia. Mary Jane Edwards, Programme Manager, FACT, will do this introduction for the visiting guests.
15.00 Guests attending ‘Aurora’ depart for coach. Guests not attending can remain at TATE for informal networking and a glass of wine.
 16.00 ‘Aurora’- a partnership between FACT, Culture Liverpool, Invisible Flock, Dingle 2000, and The British Council.

17.00 – Participants of Aurora go back to Toxteth Town Hall (located directly opposite the Reservoir) for a glass of wine.
 17.45 – Shuttle bus travels to Liverpool Lime Street train station and Liverpool city centre
