Event description

Description

For the first time ever, we are taking Wally to the Olympics for our annual Where's Wally? fun run, sponsored by Clarks.

You are invited to join us at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday 15 March 2020, and follow in the footsteps of sporting legends as we turn the park red and white in the name of literacy!

There's a 5km or a 10km course to choose from which are perfect for beginners or those looking to achieve a personal best, plus there's a 1km route for little legs!

Every runner will receive:

  • Where's Wally? costume

  • Collectible medal

  • Chip timed results

  • Exclusive goody bag

  • Fundraising support

Plus there will be winners' trophies for each race category, on the day spot prizes and lots of entertainment for all the family, including face painting, and food stalls!

But this isn't just a fun day out for all the family. Every penny raised from this event will help transform the life stories of children in some of the most deprived communities across the UK, by giving them the literacy skills they need to succeed in life.

The races:

Run in the footsteps of Olympic legends, around the iconic sights of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Along a flat, smooth course, you'll be in inspired by the scenic waterways, green spaces and sporting venues which include the London Stadium, the London Aquatics Centre, and the Copper Box Arena, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre.

  • 1km - Perfect for little legs! Plus, parents are able to run with their kids free of charge.

  • 5km / 10km - These routes are perfect for everyone, whether you are a first timer or chasing a personal best! It is clearly signposted to help you stay on the course. There will be plenty of marshals to help you too.

How you will make a difference:

Every penny raised from this event will help give disadvantaged children in the UK the literacy skills they need to succeed.

1 in 8 disadvantaged children in the UK don’t own a single book. These children will be held back at every stage of their lives. They will struggle to do well in school or to find a job, and when they become parents won't be able to support their own child's learning - creating a vicious cycle of deprivation.

By taking part in this event you will help helping to transform the life stories of children in some of the most deprived communities across the UK.
