About this event

Welcome to Freshwalks. This special Saturday event is part of our own vibrant business community programme and everyone is welcome to join us for a day of hiking and networking in the great outdoors. Feel free to come alone - most Freshwalkers do - and you'll be warmly welcomed or invite a colleague or client along for company.

Route description

Starting at Ribblehead train station, this scenic circular hike begins with a gentle stroll past the impressive Ribblehead Viaduct, offering great photo opportunities. We'll take a short diversion to visit Force Gill Waterfall before the route climbs steadily to the summit of Whernside, the highest of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, rewarding hikers with panoramic views of the Dales. The descent follows a grassy track to Bruntscar, then continues through the quiet village of Chapel-le-Dale where we'll stop for refreshments at the Old Hill Inn. From here, we'll head back beneath limestone scars to the viaduct and Ribblehead station.
