How has digital connectivity played vital role during COVID-19 and what can we learn from this to support communities in the future

About this Event

Held in partnership with Good Things Foundation, this session will explore how digital connectivity has played vital role during COVID-19 and what we can learn from this to support communities in the future.

Joining the discussion will be:

  • Helen Milner, Chief Executive of the Good Things Foundation (chair)
  • Chris Ashworth, Head of Public Benefit at Nominet
  • Andrew Blakey, Riverside Community (an Essex-based community group)
  • Nick Gardham, Chief Executive of Community Organisers
  • Melissa Ray, Digital Portfolio Officer, The National Lottery Community Fund

For some food for thought ahead of the event, take a look at this short blog by Chief Executive of the Good Things Foundation, Helen Milner.

The event will be held via Zoom and joining instructions will be sent to attendees 24hrs beforehand.

To submit questions ahead of the discussion, please email: Jessie at jessie.powell@localtrust.org.uk and join the conversation on twitter using #RespondRenew

By looking at the issues that are affecting communities now, this event series hopes to better understand how communities can not only respond to COVID-19 but renew and increase their resilience following it. Future sessions will look at food security, mental health, and the shifting values and ideas emerging as a result of the pandemic.

This event is open to all and will be relevant to individuals and organisations working in or with communities, thinking about the challenges and opportunities they face and what this means for their future.

Good Things Foundation are a social change charity, helping people to improve their lives through digital. They tackle the most pressing social issues of our time, working with partners in thousands of communities across the UK and further afield.
