<h3>Session 1 Speakers:</h3>Speaker: Neloufar Taheri, Co-Founder, SaltycoSalty makes planet-positive textiles by turning damaging material supply chains into healing ones. We do this by connecting regenerative agriculture to the fashion industry through our innovative plant-based materials.Our first product, BioPuff®, is a plant-based alternative to goose-down and synthetic fillers, crafted from plants that heal damaged land. The secret lies in peatlands: rich wetlands that are the most effective carbon sinks on the planet. Historically they have been drained and turned into farmland, causing massive releases of CO2. Using regenerative agricultural practices in these ecosystems, Saltyco is able to re-wet and re-grow native plants that heal the land and lock carbon dioxide back into the ground. These plants are then made into textiles, replacing damaging existing options with healing ones.By connecting planet-healing practices to material science value chains, Saltyco rethinks our relationship with textiles, resulting in healthier garments, a restored environment and a fair supply chain.Speaker: Fatimah El-Rashid + Sille Bertelsen, Co-Founders, ShadyClub SHADY.CLUB is an all female-founded tech startup building SHADE: a browser extension that surfaces sustainable fashion while users browse any shopping website. Our ultimate goal is to end greenwashing by diverting consumer spending on fast fashion to sustainable fashion.Speaker: Lise Honsinger, COO NOTPLA, NOTPLA is a start up on a mission to make packaging disappear. Notpla works with seaweed and plants to create materials with a short shelf-life that will biodegrade naturally, replacing single-use plastic in use cases where it is unnecessary. Lise has been with the company for 5 years helping it grow from 3 people to 50 employees, from one product to 5, and from Crowdfunding to Series A! Prior to Notpla she worked in PE financing solar energy in Asia - always driven by her passion for sustainability and renewables.Moderated by Maria Apud Bell, Senior Teaching Fellow, Dyson School of Design Engineering, ICL<h3>Session 2 Speakers:</h3>Speaker 1: Valentin Buchinger - Co-founder Kruiz, Aeronautics Ph.D. student at Imperial, ex-vice chair of CEC.Is a final year PhD student in the Department of Aeronauticalengineering at Imperial College London focusing on Structural Health Monitoring in Composite Materials.He’s also the co-founder and CEO of Kruiz which is building a waterborne hybrid air taxiand currently.He met is co-founders 2 years ago through a social event conducted by the Climate Entrepreneurs Club which he has been heavily involved with –first as a vice-chair and then a treasurer.Speaker 2: Belinda Ng - Co-founder Conscious Eats, MSc Environmental tech student at Imperial, CEC member. Belinda will come with two of her co-foundersBelinda is currently pursuing her Master’s in environmental technologyat Imperial College with the aim of starting a career as a sustainability professional. With her particular passion for the intersection between technology, innovation, and education, she helped develop a web-based app called Conscious Eatsthat helps consumers make more climate-friendly purchasing and diet choices.Speaker 3: Sonal Joshi - On Green Chemistry Doing her Master in Researchin Green Chemistry at Imperial focused on synthesizing materials for carbon dioxide capture.She is also the Vice-Chair of the Climate Entrepreneurs Club and the chair of the Student Advisory board at the Enterprise Lab. She is passionate about sustainability.Speaker 4: Livia Kalossaka - Venture Manager, Creative Destruction LabLivia is a Venture Manager for the Creative Destruction Lab responsible for the Climate Stream. She has completed a PhD at the intersection of Design Engineering, Biology and Chemistry from Imperial College London where she worked on 3D printing artificial soil and developed a novel biocompatible green light 3D printer. The quality and novelty of her research has led her to be awarded as Young Innovator for 2021 by the Association of Woman Innovators and Inventors. Prior to her doctoral studies, she has worked for a leading multinational organization in Supply Chain and R&amp;D focusing on improving the sustainability of operations.
