An outdoor course looking at ways to make colour from nature.

About the event

We will spend the day in the woods using different techniques to obtain colour from nature:
Hapa zome
Small scale charcoal making
Using earth colours, chalk & charcoal
Natural dyes from trees
Making simple inks 
Using binders to make paints
Botanical contact printing (eco printing)

This course runs from 10am-3pm in an outdoor setting.

What will I need for the course?

Please make sure you bring the following with you:

  • A mug
  • A packed lunch
  • Suitable outdoor clothing for the weather conditions
  • Stout shoes or boots. 

We will be provide:

  • Tea and coffee
  • All equipment for the outdoor tasks
