About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

So, you may remember Matt? He led our Fire Starter Event back in March - well, Matt instigated his own camp out in the woodland doing an "artist in residence" research & development gig over the Bank Holiday weekend at the beginning of May! And well, he practically floated out of the woodland after just 24 hours, connected to nature and bursting at the seams with happiness and inspiration! Matt has crafted a creative Wild Weaving workshop off the back of his time spent in the woodland amongst all the plants, we think you might want to do a bit of Wild Weaving too? But we also wonder if you might want to take a leaf out of Matt's book and camp out in the woodland the night before? Especially if your wellbeing gets a boost as big as Matt's!

Booking: So, here's how we are planning to run this one - it's a bit different........

So the Wild Weaving Event will run normally from 10.00 am - 2 pm on Sat 20th July - but, because we want to big up the nature connection and nature immersion, we are inviting you to join us to Friday Night Camp Out In The Woodland 19th July from 5 pm too! We're going to camp out in the woodland overnight before the event, spend some quality time in nature, share a campfire meal, explore the woodland at night, grab some solo time or meet new people, whatever you are wanting to do, we will build space for that - adults only to the overnight. Don't worry if you don't fancy camping out, you may attend the Saturday Event as usual.

Follow this link to Eventbrite to book, there are only 12 spaces:

All of this is free of charge #ThanksToLotteryPlayers our wonderful funders: The National Lottery Heritage Fund @TNLHeritageFund have sponsored this event as part of our Heritage Project: Recovering With Trees - connecting us with our greatest heritage: Nature!!!

Materials will be provided at a cost of £5.00 per person, you will then have your own wild weaving kit to take away for your own future weaving adventures wherever you might find yourselves - immersed in nature and celebrating connection to the land!

    Who can attend?

So, we welcome everyone to join us to the Saturday event. Adults will be responsible for any children attending and also, children will need to be able to concentrate on crafting activity which will require patience. There won't be any child focussed activity at this event. The overnight event will be for adults only.

Bring a packed lunch to the Saturday Wild Weaving event, and Gill will coordinate a bring and share campfire meal on the Friday evening with those of us booking in for the overnight camp out .

At Harwes Farm, our key philosophy is if you have something beautiful, you should share it with the world. We love all things natural and we’re enthusiastic to share our love of nature with as many people as possible. The natural world is an incredible thing, and it’s so easy to forget how important nature is whilst we go about our busy day-to-day lives.
