Reflections on AI

This lecture, delivered by Carmen Torrijos, offers a critical reflection on the use of artificial intelligence in our reading and writing processes. Far from a purely technical perspective, the session focuses on how AI tools influence the way we read and produce texts and, consequently, how we think and interpret the world. Grounded in critical thinking, the talk will address the opportunities offered by AI, as well as the risks of unconsciously delegating tasks that are fundamental to human thought.

The event invites us to consider the extent to which we control the impact of AI on our intellectual development, our creativity, and our analytical skills. Through concrete examples and open-ended questions, the session seeks to foster a more conscious and responsible relationship with these technologies, underscoring the importance of maintaining attentive reading, reflective writing, and a critical attitude that allows us to use AI as a support rather than a substitute for our own thinking.

The event will be introduced by the academic Andrea Novoa, who will chair the roundtable discussion.

This event has been organised in collaboration with CERU – SRUK.

Event in English.
