Willow Weaving: Two-Day Rural Craft Workshop
Hosted by Westfield Croft at The Acorn Centre, Inverharroch

Join us for an immersive two-day rural craft workshop led by Frank of Westfield Croft — a local crofter who harvests and prepares his own willow on his smallholding in Aberdeenshire. Set against the historic and breathtaking landscape of the Cabrach, this hands-on experience offers the perfect opportunity to learn a traditional heritage skill in an inspiring setting.

Over the course of the workshop, you’ll be introduced to the art and technique of willow weaving. With expert guidance, you will craft your very own handled basket to take home — a practical and beautiful reminder of your time in the Cabrach.

Tea and coffee will be provided throughout. Please bring your own snacks and lunch.

About Westfield Croft

Westfield Croft is a smallholding near Rothienorman in Aberdeenshire, where Frank and Marguerite are building a sustainable craft business rooted in wool and willow. They care for a small breeding flock of rare British sheep breeds — Boreray and Hebridean — and have restored a traditional willow coppice that now produces hazel and high-quality basketry willow. Their passion for land stewardship and traditional skills is at the heart of everything they do.
