This workshop will introduce different willow weaving techniques to create birdfeeders suitable for fatballs or seed. During the day you will make at least two different styles of birdfeeder one of which could also be used in the kitchen to store garlic or small utensils.

Workshop Tutor - Cathy Preston

Cathy grows and weaves willow at her home near Oswestry and has a strong connection with the natural world. Encouraging people to unleash their creative talents and to take inspiration from the natural environment is at the core of Cathy’s workshops.

Severn Gorge Countryside Trust

This workshop is being hosted by the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust, a local charity.

The Trust’s aim is to promote, protect and conserve the living landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, which has a diverse range of habitats, including wildflower meadows, woodlands and heathlands. But that’s not all! We maintain over 20 kilometres of footpaths, conserve and protect 60 historic structures, run exciting Outdoor Learning and Volunteering Programmes to encourage local people and visitors to engage with the natural environment in a variety of ways.

All proceeds from this workshop will support the work of the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust.
