A versatile stylish willow basket, perfect for using as a hand bag, lunch bag or foraging basket.

New workshop for summer 2026! This versatile stylish basket, perfect for using as a hand bag, lunch bag or foraging basket, has been designed by Sarah so that at a one day workshop you can successfully experience the wonderful world of willow weaving.


Drawing upon over a decade of basketry designing and teaching, Sarah has created the chic basket for both beginner weavers and improvers. At 25cm wide, this conical shaped basket is completed with a leather or leatherette handle.

You’ll be weaving with colourful willow grown commercially on the local Somerset Levels.


LEARN: A round catalan platter base with fully integrated stakes, the 3 rod wale weave, a reverse 3 rod wale weave with colourful stripe, bystaking, 5 behind 1 rod border and how to create a leather handle. (Leatherette - vegan handle also available).


ABILITY: Ideal for adventurous beginners and improvers!


VENUE: Chevithorne Village Hall, Chevithorne, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 7PU. (15 minutes from M5, junction 27, 5 mins from A361 dual carriageway).


TIME: 9.15 arrival for 9.30am start. 5.45pm finish (approximately).


DETAILS: Maximum of 8 participants. Price includes all materials and refreshments. Tools provided. Sarah has teamed up with a lovely local caterer who provides us with a delicious homemade lunch of soup, sourdough bread, cheesy biscuits and cake. £12.50 Lunch payable on the day by card or cash.
